It's certainly been a hot summer here in the States. Where I live, we're in a drought which has taken us almost to a state of emergency. So, how do you beat the heat when it's almost too hot to handle? By hopping with us in the Hot Summer Nights Blog Hop, of course. So, fill a frosty glass with your favorite icy cold beverage, kick back in your most comfortable lounge chair, and hop around to all the blogs on the hop for some cool prizes, some of which might be books that will turn up the temperature in your imaginary bedrooms as much as the weather is turning up the heat outside. And for you in the southern hemisphere, where winter has you in its grip, this hot blog hop is just what the doctor ordered. Enjoy.
My contribution to turn up your temperature? Book two of my AKM series, Heart of the Warrior, has caused quite a stir with readers. HOTW, as I call it, is a M/M romance between two super sexy vampires named Severin and Arion, and even readers who don't normally like M/M have fallen in love with it. I receive so many compliments on how amazing, hot, and emotional this book was. Several readers have even told me the story brought them to tears (in a good way, of course). So, if you want a hot read, give Heart of the Warrior a try. It's available at:

Here's a Little Excerpt
As [Ari] rounded the corner, he sucked in his breath at the magnificent, beautiful male who greeted him. Sev was sitting on the bench, his face already turned toward him, his guarded eyes red and full of tears, his thumb poised against his sternum as if he had been rubbing it.
Sev slowly stood up. "Why are you here?"
Suddenly, everything Ari had wanted to say escaped him. Like a fleeing antelope, his words bounded away, leaving him only with his breath, his body, and the vision of Severin in front of him. And the scent of Sev's sweat. And the memory of Sev's mouth on his, their bodies perfectly matched and pressed together. All he could do was stare and remember how incredible Sev had felt against him and in his arms.
Without a word, Ari charged forward, grabbed Sev, and thrust him back against the metal lockers with a loud clang as he came nose-to-nose with Sev, his senses spiking to DEFCON 1 as he panted with arousal.
"I didn't want her." His voice growled low in his throat.
It took a moment for Sev to react, but he didn't fight him or try to pull away. On the contrary, his body seemed to light up with as much heat as Ari was feeling.
"What? What do you mean?" Sev blinked in confusion. Or maybe he was just dazed.
Arion’s grip on Sev's shoulders stayed firm as his gaze danced over Sev's face hungrily. "I didn’t want her." He spoke more softly this time. More reverently.
Sev licked his lips and it was all Ari could do to not lean in and quickly snag his tongue with his teeth.
"Who?" Sev said quietly.
Ari could tell Sev knew he was talking about Chloe, but he seemed wary, as if he couldn't believe he was hearing him right.
"Any of them. I didn't want any of them." Ari couldn't have made a truer statement, because not only had he not wanted Chloe, but he now knew that he had never wanted a single woman he had been with. He had never been more certain of anything than he was right now. He had never wanted any of those females.
Their noses touched as their gazes held and locked on to each other, and Ari could feel the warmth of Sev's breath on his own mouth. It made his stomach muscles quiver with excitement.
Sev's eyes searched his as he remained pressed against the lockers. "Who do you want, Ari?" He kept his voice soft then held his breath, as if not daring to hope for the answer he wanted.
But he knew the answer. Ari could tell. He could see the realization dawning in Sev's blue eyes; the connections being made; the knowledge that what had happened six weeks ago hadn't been a fluke, an accident, or just some curious adventure. It had been real.
"You." Ari closed the last inch between them in an instant, fusing his lips to Sev's. Air pushed out their noses as they both moaned. It was as if they had both been holding their breath. And who knew? They probably had been.
