Period. Erotic romance, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, or any kind of romance. If my romantic couple happens to be M/M, it doesn't change the fact that it's romance. :)Donya Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00229964689354498931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1734404180567424295.post-89159224978642860242012-05-09T06:30:59.982-07:002012-05-09T06:30:59.982-07:00Excellent points, Sunne. I hope we're both right. :) Because I really don't want to write under two pen names.

And regarding J.R. Ward and Team Qhuay: I think she has wanted to write their story for a few years, but her publisher was squeamish about it. I think now her publisher sees that the M/M genre is becoming more mainstream. I just hope they don't make her water their story down so much that it loses its punch. Their story has the power to revive the whole BDB franchise to the glory days. I'm looking forward to this one.Donya Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00229964689354498931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1734404180567424295.post-3651637185347313792012-05-09T06:07:32.391-07:002012-05-09T06:07:32.391-07:00Hopefully none of your readers will dump you. I think the PNR-fans are ready for m/m - even the Warden is going to write Blay and Qhuinn - and think of the huge amount of m/m shifter stories...it's like someone has opened a floodgate. And I asume the m/m fans are not so narrowminded to dump you because you write f/m, too. So stay with one penname, it really makes it easier to find your books...I was really floored when I found out that one of my fav m/m authors L.A. Witt is also writing under Lauren Gallagher f/m. She has both on one homepage so it's not a secret but as I remember reading in an article..it was based on the fact that years ago people hadn't been as accepting as they are now.Sunnenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1734404180567424295.post-41811448675245133732012-05-09T04:59:49.857-07:002012-05-09T04:59:49.857-07:00Thank you, Karen. I swear, this is the one thing that worries me as an author: Will my hetero fans dump me because I write homo, or will homo fans spurn me for my hetero work? I think the latter is less likely to happen than the former.

I will say this: My objective from the very beginning, when I decided to write books for readers, was to make the experience easier and more enjoyable for readers to find my books, read my books, and have an experience with my stories. So, if keeping one name instead of several for separate genres is going to make it easier for readers to find my books, then all the more reason to do it. :)

Happy reading!Donya Lynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00229964689354498931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1734404180567424295.post-9315374838319088162012-05-09T02:24:54.439-07:002012-05-09T02:24:54.439-07:00Praise to you for standing up for what you believe...Praise to you for standing up for what you believe in. As far as the dual author persona goes, as a reader I find it frustrating sometimes when I love an author's style of writing and therefore search out their other work, only to find out further down the track I have missed books because they are published under a pseudonym.
I have all the respect in the world for someone like yourself who is comfortable enough in their own skin to say, "This is who I am" and be proud of it.
If readers don't like one genre or the other, they don't have to read it, but at least they will know it's all your work.
Stay true to what you believe in and you can't go wrong. I wish you all the best in your endeavours and look forward to reading your work!Karen Romanoreply@blogger.com
